Home Insurance Brokers
Shopping around for you home insurance is the only way to get a good price, remember to consider the quality of your policy also though, as cheapest doesn’t necessarily equate to ‘best’.
A home insurance broker can help you find the most suitable policy, and are trained to match policies to individual needs; a standard home insurance policy will cover the possessions in your home such as furniture, clothes, and electrical against a wide variety of risks including fire, theft and weather damage.
If the thought of phoning around insurers to get quotes sounds daunting, a home insurance broker could be the ideal solution, a broker will do all of the leg work for you – a broker can either be a firm, or an individual and they use a database of providers to compare quotations from several firms at once.
You can of course also do this yourself, bypassing a home insurance broker entirely; using an online tool to access a database of hundreds of insurance providers in one go you can be given the lowest quotes within minutes of filling in a few brief details.
Again, take care with these tools, they often show the lowest priced quotes first, and if you have specific insurance needs such as valuable art work, or living in a flood zone, it’s unlikely they will be a realistic reflection of what you can expect to pay for your home insurance.
